Police ID in Mississauga, Ontario, retail store stabbing victim, was married to suspect

Mississauga, Ontario. – A Canadian woman in Mississauga, Ontario, who died after being stabbed in her tire, was married to the man who was indicted this week.

Peel District Police identified the woman as 22-year-old Chandanpreet Kaur.

Officers were called into the store around 6pm on Monday after a stabbing report and found Kaur with an apparent stab wound. She is said to have died at the scene.

Investigators said Kaur’s husband of three years, 26-year-old Charanjeet Singh, was arrested and taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Singh was charged with first-degree murder in the case earlier this week.

Police are asking anyone with information, video, or dashcam footage of the incident to contact them.
