Police arrest suspect after being stabbed in Halifax

Halifax regional police say the suspect has been detained after a man was stabbed in the city on Saturday night.

According to police, police officers were called to Brunswick Street shortly before 11:00 pm and found a man with a puncture wound in his upper body.

They say a 24-year-old man was taken to the hospital for treatment of what is believed to be a non-life-threatening injury.

Investigators say a 26-year-old man was arrested near the scene for some time and prosecution is pending.

Police are not looking for other suspects at this time and say there is no ongoing threat to the general public.

However, they are asking to contact someone who has information about the incident.
