Penguins Resign Goalkeeper Casey Demis for $ 3.6 Million for Two Years

Pittsburgh Penguins resigned goalkeeper Casey DeSmith on Tuesday for a two-year $ 3.6 million deal.

DeSmith was scheduled to become an unlimited free agent on July 13th.

A 30-year-old from Rochester, New Hampshire, had an ERA of 2.79 and an ERA of .914 in three shutouts during the regular season, setting a record of 11-6-5.

He started Game 1 of the first round of the playoffs with the New York Rangers and made 48 saves before ending in the middle of the second extra time due to an injury.

Undrafted and joining the penguins as a free agent in 2017, De Smith holds a career record of 43-28-11 in Pittsburgh for four seasons.
