Upon arrival, police found the two shot in an apartment building.
Acting director Craig Young told reporters at the scene that the first victim was found in the lobby of a 19-story apartment building. Law enforcement was enacted, but a second victim – an adult male – was found in a third-floor unit and pronounced dead at the scene.
Meanwhile, a third similarly shot victim, a woman, was found near the TTC bus. Ms. Young fled the building and Queen said she “seeked shelter” in a bus on the street.
Police later said a fourth victim, a man, made his way to a nearby hospital on his own. His injuries were not life threatening.
Police remained at the scene looking for two suspects, a black man in his 30s dressed in black.
Young said someone was taken into custody Tuesday night, but “we don’t know the relationship at this time.”
