Members from both groups modelled the fashions from the Karisma Fashion Boutique.
Together with the thanks to the generosity of the guests, $4,983 was raised to help fund the joint Centennial Project (The Waterfront Arboretum) for both the Horticultural Society and the Kiwanis Club.
The Waterfront Park is a beautiful space for people to enjoy the great outdoors along the mighty Ottawa River.
The arboretum makes the area even more serviceable with more trees, a bird habitat, a book tree, gazebos, tables and benches and a water feature in the development stage; to be completed next year.
“We have had so many people volunteer their time, skills and funds over the past year to make this project a reality. We are all truly grateful. All the people of Pembroke and our visitors now have an even more incredible space to enjoy, right in the heart of the city,” said Pembroke Horticultural Society President Catherine Hugli.
