Owen Sound police investigating nighttime thefts

Owen Sound police are investigating several nighttime thefts from cars on Aug. 12 and 13.

The investigation includes a theft from a westside residential garage too, where an estimated $8,000 worth of tools and sports gear was taken.

Items reported stolen include  two Norco Charger mountain bikes, a Blue Wave stand-up paddle board, mig welder, Echo chainsaw, Stihl pole saw and numerous DeWalt tools including a DeWalt flooring tool still in the original packaging.

Those responsible are believed to have taken the stairs between the 1100- and 1200-blocks of 6th Avenue West and may have had a vehicle waiting in that area, a police news release said.
