Ottawa Should Boycott India’s G20 Over ‘Horrible Discrimination Laws’, Says NDP – National

The New Democrats have called on the Liberal Party to boycott India’s hosting of the G20 because of the country’s treatment of minorities.

On Thursday, India began its term as the rotating presidency of the G20, the forum of the world’s largest economies.

This includes convening meetings throughout the year, culminating in a summit meeting scheduled for New Delhi next September.

The NDP says India has “horrible discrimination laws” against minority groups.

NDP diplomatic commentator Heather McPherson is holding a press conference Thursday afternoon with the World Sikh Organization and Canada’s National Council of Muslims.
