Olivia Wilde has silenced a big rumor that spread when she appeared on Wednesday night’s “The Late Show” at the Venice Film Festival.
Jokingly called “Spitgate,” the rumor was sparked when Harry Styles sat next to Chris Pine at the Venice premiere of Wilde’s “Don’t Worry Darling.” By Roogie Styles spat.

“Late Show” host Stephen Colbert wanted the inside scoop and grilled Wilde like a “60 Minutes” correspondent.
“Did Harry Styles spit on Chris Pine?” he asked in pseudogravity, leaning forward.
“He didn’t,” Wilde replied with a chuckle. “But I think this is a perfect example of people looking for drama everywhere.”

She repeated, “Harry didn’t spit on Chris.”
Colbert pretended to be suspicious. “Time will tell,” he quipped.
“No, he really didn’t!” Wilde said with a laugh.
“Let’s see,” Colbert countered.
