Halifax-Nova Scotia today reports another COVID-19-related death and 22 new illness cases.
Health officials say a man in his 70s, who lives in the central part of the state, died from the new coronavirus.
In a news release, Prime Minister Tim Houston said he was saddened to hear his death and expressed sympathy for his family and friends.
Nova Scotia has reported 169 active cases of COVID-19, with 17 hospitalized for the disease, including 5 in the intensive care unit.
Authorities also say there is evidence of a limited community in northern Nova Scotia and Halifax.
At East Cumberland Lodge in Pugwash, Nova Scotia, a total of 32 residents and 11 staff members of the long-term care facility were positive, with no new cases of death of 3 residents.
