“We just turned 40 and it’s incredible to celebrate it and still see so much love and respect for my father,” Prince added.

In addition to celebrating Michael’s music and his legacy, the Thriller Nights Halloween Party also serves as the annual fundraiser for Prince’s Heal Los Angeles Foundation and the Dee Dee Jackson Foundation.

“Both of them work with children. The Dee Dee Jackson Foundation especially works with people who are grieving and who have lost a parent or other important person in their life,” he explained. . “The Heal Los Angeles Foundation puts education at its heart and seeks to improve quality of life through both soft and hard skills education.”

Prince, who lost his father in 2009, has admitted that he still struggles with grief, and it’s an ongoing “process” for him.

“It’s still a process for me, a grieving process, a journey I’ve been on,” Prince said before sharing advice for those grieving the loss of a parent.
