Rap superstar Nicki Minaj’s husband, Kenneth Petty, was sentenced to house arrest and three years of probation on Wednesday for not registering as a sex offender in California.
A representative of the Federal Prosecution Service told NBC that 44-year-old Petty was also ordered to pay a fine of US $ 55,000.

In September, Petty pleaded guilty to not registering as a sex offender in California. He moved to the state in 2019, but was suspended due to a traffic outage when authorities learned he hadn’t registered yet. Petty was indicted in March 2020.
Prosecutors in the case opposed house arrest and recommended that Petty be sentenced to 15 months in prison.
In documents filed during the June ruling, prosecutors alleged that Petty had deliberately failed to register as a sex offender. They also argued that house arrest was not an acceptable punishment, citing the 6-bedroom, 7-bathroom Carabasas home shared with Minage as a reason.
In his house arrest ruling, Minage shared a photo of Petty and his son, nicknamed Papa Bear, on Instagram.
Petty and Minage, 39, got married in 2019. The “Super Bass” rapper revealed the news in a post to her Instagram account.
