Aaron Carter’s memoir publisher delays release of ‘In Honor of the Carter Family’

To Miguel A. Melendez, ETOnline.com.

The publisher that published Aaron Carter’s memoir decided not to publish the book “out of honor to the Carter family.”

In a statement to ET, Atherton Galardi Mullen & Reeder PLLC founder Scott Atherton, an attorney who represented Ballast Books and author Andy Symonds, said the late singer had told his story “all about it. Despite wanting to convey the beauty and rawness of the film, they decided to do so. Put the book on hold for now.

“Out of respect for the Carter family, my client has decided to postpone further releases of the book at this time,” the statement read. A brother, a son and a friend to many who mourned him.”

Atherton said, “Public attention has recently been focused on a handful of Mr. Carter’s early interactions.” He added, “The more important story is about Mr. Carter’s life and what people can learn from his professional success, personal struggles and tragic death.”

The decision came after Hilary Duff blamed Ballast Books for her decision to go ahead with the release of Carter’s unfinished memoir, calling the move “sad” and trying to “capitalize” the deceased singer’s tragedy. It was carried out the day after it was accused of being a reckless attempt to do so.

In a statement to ET, the “Lizzie McGuire” alum and Carter’s ex-girlfriend said, “Within a week of Aaron’s death, a publisher recklessly trying to publish a book to capitalize on this tragedy. It’s really sad that there is,” he said. Time or attention to actually check the validity of his work.

a book titled Aaron Carter: The Imperfect Story of an Imperfect Life It was supposed to drop on November 15th, just ten days after Carter was found dead in his home in Lancaster, California.
