NHL, NHLPA set to revive hockey World Cup in 2024

The NHL and its players association have agreed to move forward with plans to revive hockey’s World Cup, the league announced Wednesday.

The tournament, which will likely take place in February 2024, will include games played in North America in a 17-day window with at least eight national teams.

NHL Deputy Commissioner Bill Daley said Wednesday, “We want to play one pool in Europe, a qualifying round pool in Europe, a qualifying round pool in North America, and move the semi-finals and finals to another city in North America.” said.
