CBJ — Honda’s manufacturing plant in Alliston, Ontario is receiving a large infusion to focus on manufacturing hybrid vehicles.
Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and Premier Doug Ford of Ontario were at the factory to officially announce the $ 131.6 million that governments had promised to spend on upgrades. This will produce the 2023 CR-V and CR-V hybrid vehicles.
“With these investments, Honda Canada will be able to build next-generation hybrid-like models here in Ontario and sell them throughout North America,” Ford said. “This means that future cars will be manufactured here by Ontario workers using Ontario resources.”
A Honda spokesman said a major remodeling project would cost about $ 1.4 billion over six years.
