Snoop Dogg biopic in production with writer of ‘Black Panther: Wakanda Forever’

Snoop Dogg is getting a more in-depth cinematic makeover.

Universal Pictures, the studio behind NWA’s biopic Straight Outta Compton, is working on an untitled Snoop Dogg biopic. hollywood reporterSnoop was briefly portrayed in “Straight Outta Compton” by Lakeith Stanfield, but it is not reported whether Stanfield will reprise the role.

Directed by Allen Hughes, written by Joe Robert Cole.

Allen is one half of the Hughes brothers and a duo director with twin brother Albert Hughes. They directed “Dead Presidents (1995)” and “The Book of Eli (2010)”. Allen is the more active of the pair, most recently directing the documentary miniseries “Dear Mama.”

Cole is a filmmaker and actor who co-wrote Black Panther and its sequel, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. Cole also worked on “American Crime Story: The People v. OJ Simpson”.
