NeNe Leakes’ son Brentt discharged from hospital two months after stroke

NeNe Leakes celebrated Thanksgiving with her son, Brentt, about two months after he was hospitalized for congestive heart failure and stroke.

In a video posted to her Instagram story on Wednesday, Leakes revealed that the 23-year-old left the hospital just in time for Turkey Day.

“Wow! You’re walking,” the “Real Housewives of Atlanta” alum gushed, sharing footage of her son she shared with her late husband Greg Leakes and leaving the medical facility. “It was good!”

As he made his way to reception, one of the nurses hugged him and said, “We love you, Brent!”

Leakes thanked hospital staff as they exited the facility in excitement, saying in another clip: Hallelujah. “

Brent was equally excited to celebrate Thanksgiving with his family, posting a holiday photo with the caption, “Happy Thanksgiving.”

Wearing a red tracksuit and matching UGG slippers, Brent shared footage of his mother and loved ones sitting around a dinner table. He also posted a sweet handwritten note his family left for him on the way home.

A note reading, “Thank God for answering my prayers and healing you! Welcome home.”

Leakes first spoke about his son’s health earlier last month, sharing a video message on his Instagram story. He revealed that he decided to speak out about Brent’s condition after receiving a flurry of calls, text messages and emails when it happened. Instead of waiting to speak to him publicly, the correct information came out.

At the time, she said doctors weren’t sure of the exact cause of the medical episode. The ‘College Hill: Celebrity Edition’ star says drug use and drinking weren’t a factor.

“I was so scared,” she said. “I don’t want to go into detail about what happened, how I discovered it, what condition he was in. Clearly, a stroke is a very serious problem, so he speaks I am struggling with

She said at the time, “They suspect that Brent was born with some sort of disease, or something in his mind, from childhood, but it hasn’t manifested until now.

The reality star also revealed that it may have been caused by stress, as it was also the anniversary of the death of her late husband in September, shortly before Brent went to the hospital.

She revealed she was in touch with Brent at the time, and he said he was “fine.” Leakes also silenced her speculation that his medical condition was caused by his weight.

“So many people keep asking me about his weight,” she said in an Instagram story in October. I think he’s a super tall guy and the doctors say he’s not, so this is something else we’re dealing with and the doctors don’t know yet. We keep praying that we find the cause, because when we find the cause, we can treat the cause, and of course that’s what we want to do.”

In addition to Brent, Leakes is also the mother of 32-year-old Bryson from a previous relationship.
