Rose Valley RCMP reports one woman dead, child seriously injured in Sunday clashes

The Rose Valley RCMP said one person was killed and two others, including a child, were injured after a pickup truck collided with a farm tractor pulling a trailer on Sunday evening.

The incident occurred on Highway 35 about 6 km north of Rose Valley, a community south of Tisdale. Pickup His truck was carrying his two passengers. One of them, her 78-year-old woman from Sylvania, Sask, was pronounced dead at the scene. The other, whose age was not disclosed, was hospitalized with serious injuries.

Police said the woman’s family had been notified of the death.

The pickup truck driver was taken to hospital, but his injuries are not life-threatening. The tractor driver was not injured.

The RCMP issued a press release at 8:37 pm Sunday, saying the highway was blocked while emergency workers were dispatched to the scene. All traffic had bypassed the site until about 4:30 am on Monday morning.

Rose Valley is located about 75 km south of Tisdale.
