Most Canadian workers want a combination of remote office options after a pandemic, the study said-nationwide.

Over half (51%) of the survey respondents said they were still more productive in their virtual work environment than last year’s 59%.

Nearly half (49%) said they were concerned that continuing to work from home could lead to promotion and discrimination, and 45% said their employers did not understand the impact of hybrid workplaces. ..

Nearly seven out of ten workers (68%) surveyed cited fears that colleagues would come to work ill or asymptomatic and pass COVID-19 as the top three post-pandemic concerns. It was.

According to Harris, the solution to post-pandemic workplace concerns is, first and foremost, to set expectations for both employees and employers.

“They want a guarantee,” she says.

According to her, the first thing a company should do is sit with an employee and measure comfort, anxiety, and desire after COVID-19.

From there, we create a “playbook” that acts as an agreement on how the company will operate in the transition from pandemic to post-pandemic. This should be a level of comfort, and a “dynamic” document that evolves as the pandemic itself evolves.

“We need to constantly check what’s working and be willing to adapt and shift as needed,” says Harris.

The KPMG survey surveyed 2,003 Canadians aged 18 and over from March 26 to 30, 2021. The margin of error for the data is plus or minus 2 percentage points.
