“We were present and found one dead adult male at the scene,” said the sergeant. John Guigon of the Calgary Police Department.
The Homicide Unit is currently investigating.
“They are now talking to a number of witnesses, and officers on the ground are creating a canvas for the area for cable TV,” he said.
Guigon said the victim’s identity would not be released, presumably until an autopsy is performed on Monday.
In a release issued Saturday afternoon, police said they believed the suspect in Saturday’s shooting was also responsible for a shooting that occurred Friday morning in nearby Castle Ridge.

According to Gigon, the victim of that shooting is still in the hospital in a life-threatening condition.
The suspect is a fair-skinned male, 5 feet 10 inches tall, of slim build, and believed to be in his late 20s or early 30s. He was seen wearing a blue hoodie, blue bandana, black baseball cap, and black backpack.
The suspect was last seen walking down blocks 0 to 100 of Falconridge Place NE and is believed to be armed and dangerous.
Police are now urging Calgarians to stay vigilant and report any suspicious activity they see in the area. They have warned people to stay away from the suspect and to call 911 immediately if they think they know his whereabouts.
