Mel C reveals body-shaming comments from Spice Girls financiers that led to eating disorder

Sporty Spice opens up about her experiences with body image issues.

Melanie C., who appeared on the “Diary of a CEO” podcast this week, revealed that comments from Spice Girls investors led to the development of an eating disorder.

“He was a former manager’s sponsor and commented on the size of my thighs, which really blew me away.

She went to a performing arts college, so she explained that she encountered such things, and that “body image was an issue there.”

However, Mel C said, “There was a girl with an eating disorder that I witnessed. But it didn’t affect me personally.”

It wasn’t really a “worry” when I recall being “a little fat” as a teenager.

Mel C previously opened up about her eating disorder during a podcast appearance on How to Fail on Elizabeth Day.

“I started eliminating food groups, becoming very restrictive in my diet, exercising a lot more, and becoming extremely obsessive to that point.” I mean, it continued through most of that time.I wasn’t eating enough and I lost weight.I became anorexic.”

Things got so extreme that her period stopped.

“I always wanted to be a mother. And here I was, I had no control over this thing that could jeopardize my fertility. But it was such an obsession.” I couldn’t stop it,” she said.
