On Monday night, the actor starred in The Tonight Show and was asked by host Jimmy Fallon about the recent “Martin” 30th Anniversary Reunion Special, which premiered at BET + on June 16th.

“Man, it was a great feeling to meet again and come back together,” Lawrence said. “I felt like I was back at work. Only his brother Tommy Ford was missing, but I was able to praise him in the right way.”

Sitcom premiered in 1992 and has been in operation for five seasons. Lawrence played DJ on the fictional radio station WZUP and later on a public access television station.

Asked if he was interested in restarting the series, the actor shut down the idea, although he left the possibility of working with the old cast and crew again.

“I think the’Martin’show was like catching a lightning bolt in a bottle. I don’t think we can redo it,” Lawrence said. She said, “You can work on something with the cast, but I don’t think you can do it again.”
