How Prince Charles Prepares for His Coronation (Exclusive)

King Charles III is gearing up for his coronation in May 2023 without slowing down.

Royal expert Katie Nicholl told ET that the 74-year-old was packing her schedule ahead of her formal coronation ceremony at Westminster Abbey in London on May 6, 2023. I’m here.

“Well, that was always the king’s intention. I think we absolutely saw him do that,” Nicole told ET. is preparing for a series of tours both before and after his coronation on 6 May. I haven’t wasted my time.”

Some of that early work includes requesting that his sister and brother – Princess Anne, 72, and Prince Edward, 58 – be made State Counselors. (stripped of all royal duties) and the fact that Prince Harry (who stepped away from royal duties in 2020) are no longer available.

“It is no coincidence that the very important decision to appoint Princess Anne and Prince Edward as State Counselors to represent him in his absence was of great importance.” Although he hasn’t been stripped of his position, the arrival of two new State Counselors means that Anne and Edward will stand in for him in his absence, and you can expect him to be quite far away. The coronation of Prince Charles on May 6 will undoubtedly draw a global audience and huge crowds, but the event just seems a bit scaled back in comparison.

Nicole also offered some insight into the royal family’s thoughts now that Season 5 of ‘The Crown’ is finally on Netflix.

“In the case of The Crown, I think this latest series got a lot of publicity and media attention even before it aired,” she said. “I think the general conclusion is that this is a bit of a disappointment compared to what it used to be. [seasons]”

Nicole said the new season of “The Crown,” which features episodes embarrassing Charles and Camilla, could have a lasting impact on younger generations.
