President and CEO Sharon Miko said, “OHS is here for animals in need as an open-access shelter. We have 27 cats a day that need our help.” “Now is the perfect time to open up and bring an animal home for the holidays.”

Currently, the association has 286 cats, including foster parents and affiliated foster parents, so it consumes a large amount of 27 cats a day.

However, with the cat boom, “OHS has many animals looking for their perfect match,” Miko said in a statement.

OHS said there are also dogs with special needs and a significant number of small animals such as rabbits, rats and guinea pigs in need of adoption or foster care.

Merlin is a 5-year-old Cane Corso mix who has been looking for his “forever home” since August. According to OHS, they have plenty of affection to give, but they have special diets due to allergies.
