Celeste Ethier, a 49-year-old eye technologist, was heading home for the holidays and wanted a new look to celebrate the holidays.

Celeste’s hair is fine, naturally wavy, and was previously colored. She wanted to lighten her color while maintaining her brunette color and wanted a shorter style for easier maintenance.To lighten her color, caramel lifts her hair and tone at once. I used her color for a gentle high-lifting tone. I then modified the color of her background foundation to a rich dark brown to add depth to her.

After cleansing her hair with Oribe – Beautiful Color Shampoo and Conditioner, I sprayed her mid lengths and rehydrated with Oribe – Run-Through Detangling Primer. I removed her two inches from her length to create a clean, classic chin-length silhouette.

Prior to styling, I applied Oribe — Maximista Thickening Spray for body and fullness and dried my hair with a round brush. A curling wand was used to create a slight bend on the front of the face and Oribe – Superfine Hairspray was used to finish the style.

Celeste is really good at makeup, so I wanted to show her how to make her eyes sparkle for the holidays. Apply a matte cream-based eyeshadow all over the eyelid for a deep golden brown. I then used copper brown eyeshadow to blend and soften the shadows to create a soft smoky look. I outlined her face with bronzing powder and swept a deep burgundy blush on her cheeks. I chose a nude lip.
