Madonna and Naomi Osaka get caught up in shooter rumors at Barclays Center

Madonna and Naomi Osaka were one of the celebrities in the boxing match between Devonte Davis and Rolando Romero at Barclays Center on Saturday night. Rumors of a shooter in the arena panicked and several people were injured in stampede.

As CNN reports, a NYPD spokesman said the “sound turbulence” in the indoor arena was mistakenly considered a shootout and rushed to the exit for event attendees. Ten people were reported to have been slightly injured and were taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.

Osaka shared their experiences at the venue on Twitter and admitted that they were “outraged” by the confusion that followed.

“I was just at Barclays Center, suddenly screaming and seeing people running. Then we were yelled at having an active archer and had to gather in the room and close the door. It was, “Osaka wrote.
