Lynda Carter defends Wonder Woman’s status as a queer icon

On the first day of Pride Month in 2022, Lynda Carter revisits her most famous role and defends the character’s height as an LGBTQ icon.

On June 1st, Carter visited Twitter to share his thoughts on the characters he played in the “Wonder Woman” TV series over the three seasons of the late 1970s.

“I didn’t write Wonder Woman, but if you want to claim she’s not a queer or trance icon for some reason, you’re not paying attention,” Carter writes about the character.

She continued by sharing how her own personal experience with the fans led her to that conclusion.

“Every time someone comes to me and says WW helped them while they were closed, it reminds me how special that role is,” she added. ..
