Lithium Americas signs community benefit agreement with Fort McDermitt Paiute and Shoshone Tribe, The Canadian Business Journal

VANCOUVER, British Columbia, October 20, 2022 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Lithium Americas Corp. (TSX: LAC) (NYSE: LAC) (“lithium americanorCompany”) is pleased to announce that it has entered into a community benefit agreement (“CBA”) Fort McDermitt Paiute and the Shoshone (“tribe”). CBA is the result of years of commitment, training, and relationship building between the company and the tribe. CBA provides additional training and employment opportunities for the tribes and supports cultural education and preservation. Additionally, the company agreed to build her 8,000-square-foot community center for the tribe. This includes daycares, kindergartens, playgrounds, cultural facilities, and communal greenhouses to support landfill efforts and provide income for the tribe.
