Neighborhood fires drummer Brandon Freed over allegations of molestation from Maria Zardoya

Rock band The Neighborhood announced on Sunday night that they had expelled drummer Brandon Freed after he was accused of molesting Maria Zardoya of the band The Marias.

The first allegation was filed on Sunday, with Zardoya using Instagram stories to level the allegations against Fried.

“I went to a bar last night and my neighborhood drummer, Brandon Fried, touched me under the table. I felt the intrusion of,” writes Zardoya.

“@thenbhd we need a new drummer. This guy is complete trash,” she added.

Shortly thereafter, The Neighborhood revealed in an Instagram story that Freed had been fired from the band.

“Thank you Maria for coming forward. We will not tolerate inappropriate behavior of any kind towards women,” it wrote. lose.”

Minutes later, Freed shared a message apologizing for his actions, blaming his actions on a substance abuse problem.

“My deepest apologies to Lady Maria. My actions were inexcusable and intolerable,” Fried wrote. “They are not a reflection of who I am, but they clearly reflect who I become while under their influence.”

“It’s clear that I have to address the alcohol and substance abuse problem that I am currently seeking help with,” he continued. I’m so sorry for letting The Neighborhood and our fans down.”

The latest drama sees increased attention for the band as lead singers Jesse Rutherford and Billie Eilish’s burgeoning romances.

Rutherford, 31, is heating up after dating the 20-year-old Grammy winner.
