YVR is as functional as it is beautiful. Tourism and freight drive $20.2 billion in total economic output, $10.4 billion in total GDP and $1.4 billion in government revenue. Over 26,000 people work at airports, and an additional 126,000 indirect jobs are airport-related. In other words, YVR is a big deal.

The airport is also an important part of BC’s role as a gateway between North America and Asia and between North America and Europe.

The airport’s 2037 master plan envisions “enhancing the non-passenger side of the business by making productive use of land assets in freight and logistics and activating digitalization opportunities.” .

Vrooman participated in a conversation about the role of airports as diverse global hubs.
