I want to know about the rise in gun crime the mayor is hiding from. Is it because she’s a supporter of police gang defense? The city is getting out of hand with crime and she needs to step up.
(We need our leaders to take the lead.)

Alberta has billions of dollars in assets due to rising oil prices, according to reports. If you want suggestions on how to use this money for Albertans, the state government should send $600 million each to Calgary and Edmonton for sports complexes that must be completed in Edmonton and built in Calgary. For smaller communities like Red Deer, Lethbridge and Medicine Hat, before the government sees billions of dollars being spent on something that doesn’t benefit the community. Submit your ideas to . $1.2 billion is less than 10% of his cost in Edmonton and Calgary. Take another 10% and let other communities in Alberta decide how the money will be spent in their communities. I have been here since the legacy fund was developed and have never seen what it has done for me. .

Re: Six months after war, Ukrainian refugees in Calgary are grateful but uneasy. Six months have passed since this war, and the Russian army is still trailing its tail in circles on the Ukrainian battlefield. If Russia was such a global superpower, Ukraine should have been crushed in the first week the war began. A little déjà vu for the Russian army to swallow. .

(Yes, but never underestimate bears.)
Our Prime Minister has once again fully exposed his lack of understanding of the geopolitical situation. Canada says it cannot provide Germany with her LNG, but he offered the visiting prime minister alimony, saying, “At present, our best ability is to continue serving the world market. ‘ said. Unfortunately, due to his government’s antipathy to our gas industry, we serve only the American market, and the American market distributes it to the “world market” making huge profits. It may not do much for you, but you’ll continue to lose billions of dollars each year.
(Canada had a real chance to help people in Europe. We blew it.)
Jacob Adams makes some good points (Letters, 21 Aug), but I have to wholeheartedly disagree with his views on the carbon tax. A carbon tax does nothing more than provide another flow of money for the federal government. If the federal government really wants industry to embark on cutting carbon emissions, it needs to offer significant tax breaks for carbon-reducing technologies as an incentive. As Adams says, capitalism is about making money. But sorry, that’s what the free world is all about.
(The concept of a carbon tax is difficult to accept.)
