Hillary Burton calls Candace Cameron Bure a ‘bigot’ over her stance on LGBTQ representation

Hillary Burton turns her attention to Candace Cameron Bure.
The “One Tree Hill” star took to Twitter on Monday to call out Bure about comments she made about “traditional marriages” during the transition to the Great American Family Network.

in an interview with wall street journalBure was asked if her new network home would feature LGBTQ representatives and same-sex couples in its shows, following the Hallmark Channel.
The 46-year-old said he would not, explaining:
Great American Media CEO Bill Abbott said: There is no whiteboard to say ‘Yes, this’ or ‘No, I will never go here’. “
But Burton didn’t have it. “They just openly admit their bigotry,” he tweeted, adding, “I called this a s**t when Abbott was at Hallmark. Glad they dumped him. ”
She also said, “There is nothing against tradition in same-sex couples.”
Now they openly admit their prejudices.
I called this shit years ago when Abbott was at Hallmark. I’m glad they abandoned him.

In another tweet, Burton specifically called Bure a “bigot”, writing, “I don’t remember Jesus liking hypocrites like candy. But sure. Make your money, honey. You Ride that wave of prejudice to the bank.”

Burton is a former host of MTV’s ‘Total Request Live’ and has starred in ‘One Tree Hill’ and ‘White Collar’, as well as numerous TV and holiday films, including 2020’s ‘Dear Christmas’ and 2018’s. I have also appeared in “Christmas Contract”.
Hallmark, meanwhile, is set to debut its first film centered exclusively on same-sex couples, The Holiday Sitter, which premieres December 11 and stars Jonathan Bennett and George Crista.
