Abbotsford Police Department Hosts Carol for Kids Toy Drive

Event collects gifts for Archway Community Services Christmas Bureau

The Abbotsford Police Department (APD) is hosting a toy drive through December 3rd.

The event is called Carol for Kids and invites the public to deliver new, unwrapped toys to the lobby of the main APD building at 2838 Justice Way.

All toys collected will be delivered to the Archway Community Services Christmas Bureau for a Toy Breakfast on Sunday, November 27th.

All children who drop off toys with their families will receive official APD sunglasses from front counter staff.

In 2020, with support from the Abbotsford Police Foundation, APD completed the restoration of a 1965 Chevy Biscayne police car.

Powell died of cancer later that year. She served in Vancouver and Abbotsford for her 34 years.

She and her husband, retired Sgt. Mike Powell, have hosted many of APD’s children’s Halloween parties each year, dressing up as Santa and Mrs. Claus to visit sick children.
