Alberta-based publisher of the customizable children’s book My Hockey Dream, where Connor McDavid and Edmonton Oilers defeat Calgary Flames (in the impossible Stanley Cup final). For Life begins Wednesday, hoping for the book to run as a battle in Alberta.

“This is a story about a portrait of a child chosen from a variety of avatars. They put a name on the story, your personal dedication, and Connor when the child plays against the Oilers Star in the Stanley Cup Finals. It shows a portrait of McDavid, “said Holly Preston, writer and president of Fan for Life.

“And in the story, they beat Calgary Flames,” she added with a laugh.

The Oilers will have a chance to beat the flames in the 2022 Stanley Cup Playoffs as they compete in the second round of the series starting Wednesday night in Calgary.

According to Preston, children’s avatar options range from different hairstyles to different skin tones, including the option to wear a hijab or police car.

“When you go through the process of creating a personalized book that works for your family, we want to find your child in this book,” Preston said.

She said My Hockey Dream has been available since late 2020 and is licensed by the NHL and NHLPA. This book is also available to fans of other teams such as Flames featuring Matthew Kachuck.

Preston has been working on books since 2010 and said he started working at the NHL in 2012.

“We absolutely hope that the playoffs will generate very strong sales, targeting fans like the very strong and passionate Oilers and Flames fans,” Preston said.

She said it was important to connect children with hockey heroes and acquire “good sports values”.

Preston’s son, Stephen, was an advisor to the book and oversaw the software development of the personalized book. Preston added that everyone working on this book is from Alberta, but the book is printed in Ontario.

“Even kids have to say what fans have to say, how excited they are to see themselves in books with hockey heroes. I’m just happy to see, “she said.
