Shoebox Project Helps Women in Kelowna Shelter for Second Year in a Row
The Shoebox Project Kelowna Chapter is seeking donations for its second year to help women experiencing homelessness in their community.
In partnership with CMHA Kelowna, Karis Society, NOW Shelter, The Bridge, and HOPE Outreach, Kelowna’s Chief Coordinator Malika Soliel will provide those in need with a shoe box filled with women’s essentials and a few small gifts. said to distribute.

Soleil says she also looks for warm items like mitts and socks, and small gifts like small chocolates, cosmetics, scrunchies and diaries.
“Plus I’ll add a message, this is a special message from the guy who makes the women’s box.”
Soliel encourages companies to host Shoebox-Raiser. A Shoebox-Raiser is a small holiday party where everyone brings different things to help fill different boxes.
She also plans to host an event to fill more boxes, but details are yet to be finalized.
Last year, the project made 188 boxes for local women. Solier says his goal for this year is at least 200, but donations have been slow.
