Kanye West Announces 2024 Presidential Election – The National

Rapper Kanye West, who has legally changed his name to Ye, announced his intentions to run for president of the United States in 2024 in a series of campaign videos released late Thursday night.

The move follows his unsuccessful 2020 presidential run, which received just 60,000 votes.

Ye’s presidential run comes on the heels of a number of damaging scandals surrounding the outspoken rapper and fashion designer.

While defending himself online, Ye was suspended from Twitter and Instagram for making anti-Semitic comments.

A day before announcing its presidential run, Adidas said it was opening an investigation into Ye over allegations of harassment against an employee who worked for the Yeezy shoe line. An Adidas employee told Rolling Stone magazine that Ye used a “mind game” to create a “toxic environment” within the company.

He is the second person after Trump to announce his candidacy for the 2024 presidential election. He appears to want to start this election early after announcing his 2020 campaign too late and that he will be unable to vote in some states.
