Jury Trial Jacob Hogard: Jury Trials Continue Deliberation of Hedley Singer

Toronto — The jury will continue to be deliberated today in the sexual assault trial of Jacob Hogard, lead singer of Canadian band Hedley.
The deliberations began on Tuesday afternoon, and the jury returned later with questions involving some of the constituents of the authority position for the purpose of establishing consent to sexual activity.
Hogard, 37, pleaded not guilty to two cases of sexual assault that caused physical harm and one case of sexual interference pointing to the sexual contact of someone under the age of 16.
Prosecutors allege that they raped teenage fans and young Ottawa women violently and repeatedly at hotels in the Toronto area in the fall of 2016.
They also claim that he groped for a teen behind the scenes after Hedley’s show in Toronto in the spring of 2016 when she was 15.
The defense said the groping never happened, and Hogard had a sexual encounter agreed with both complainers.
