Jason Momoa broke the sacred rules when he recently visited the Sistine Chapel. He was urged to apologize after the fans gave him it.
Earlier this week, the “Fast & Furious 10” star joined Instagram to share a slideshow featuring photos and videos of action stars praising Michelangelo’s masterpiece. The problem is that photography inside the Vatican Palace is completely off limits, mainly because the flash from the camera can turn out to be harmful to the artwork.
He captioned the post, “I love you. It’s a great start to our day enjoying ROMA.” However, fans were not happy with Momoa, who was accused of playing under different rules.
One fan commented, “We, the general public, are not allowed to shoot inside the Sistine Chapel 😢.” Another fan wrote, “I can’t take pictures, but many celebrities can’t do anything to Jason (I love him), but it’s not fair.” Another comment read, “They put a rich and famous movie there, but we farmers can’t 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣”.
In response to the backlash, Momoa apologized for a video sent to JustJared.com.
“If I ever felt disrespectful of your culture, I just wanted to say it wasn’t my intention,” he said. “I came here to experience the Sistine Chapel when I was 19 or 20. I always wanted, but now I can. Experience these places. I only had a few days off because of this, so I made a great donation to bring my friends and crew. “
He continued. “And during my trip to the Vatican, I found people wanting to take pictures with me. This is very strange. They want to take pictures with me. I think. I did. I was very respectful and asked for permission from where I thought it was okay. I don’t want to do anything to downplay someone’s culture. If so, I apologize. That wasn’t my intention. I paid to spend that private moment and made a nice donation to the church. I love you. I’m sorry if I made you angry. “
Momoa was filming “Fast X” in Italy. In April, Momoa talked to ET about playing a villain, sitting in the driver’s seat, and taking part in the movie’s action.
“He’s awesome. He’s a weird person. He’s misunderstood,” Momoa said of a villain who plans to play at “Fast & Furious 10.” The actor was also thinking about working with Charlize Theron. Charlize Theron welcomed him into the “Fast & Furious” family and began a big hug.
“I can shoot with really cool people like never before — I’ll be working with Charlize [Theron] First, I’m really excited, “said the stars of the” dunes. ” “She is amazing.”
