James Corden’s time at The Late Late Show is about to end.
The host recently signed a one-year contract extension to take him to the end of the 2022-23 season.
Corden, who started hosting the show for the first time in 2015, will discuss the news in a confession on Thursday.

Corden has taken over the hosting business from Craig Ferguson.
“I’m so proud of the show that it was a really difficult decision to leave. I’m excited to expand. [for a year]”Corden said deadline.. “I’ve always done it for five years, then left, and then I thought I’d stay. I’ve been thinking for a really long time, wondering if there’s another adventure.”
“My boss here at CBS has been incredibly supportive and very patient while I made this decision,” Corden added.
“Seven years ago, James Corden came to the United States and swept television. It was a huge creative, comedy swing that had a huge impact on broadcast and online viewers,” said CBS President and CEO. George Cheeks said in a statement. “From’Pedestrian Crossing Musical’to the legendary’Carpool Karaoke’, and in every unique comedy segment he introduced, James truly rethought many elements of the late-night format. He’s also perfect. He is also a network showman and has entertained the audience from the perch every night on the stage of Television City and Tony and Grammy. “
