Jaden Krause returns from Victoria Royals, ready for Mintos season

The Prince Albert Mintos will welcome most of last season’s squad ahead of Saturday’s home opener.

Goalkeeper Jaden Krause is back at Prince Albert after a strong showing in training camp against WHL’s Victoria Royals. Kraus says he wants to take it all in and pass on the knowledge he gains to the rest of the Minto roster.

“The biggest thing at that level is learning a lot and seeing a lot from people who have been there for a while. I think that’s it.”

Krause made two appearances in Victoria’s pre-season. Krause played 30 minutes in his WHL preseason debut stopping 29 of 31 shots against the Prince George Cougars. In his second game of the preseason, Krause stopped all 11 of his shots fired by the Giants over Vancouver.
Krause says the experience of playing in the WHL preseason was worth it.

“I was a little nervous. The biggest thing for me was just to have fun with it. That was my mindset. I thought there were some good games out there with a very strong D-core in front of me, and it’s been really good.”

Krause adds that the biggest takeaway from Royals’ training camp was the level of consistency needed to become a WHL goalie.

“On the ice they are always professional. On the ice they are very good. [Hockey] A league man should be good. they are unreal. Seeing their perfection, I was so impressed. ”
