After seeing England launch a ferocious attack against Iran, I don’t think Argentina will give up against the much weaker Saudi side. Lionel Messi’s Argentina are the tournament favorites.

If Denmark wants to pull off a shocker and beat France to win the group, they can’t start by dropping this easy matchup. As long as Denmark includes her Wahbi Khazri, it should finish clean.

The two teams are playing fairly evenly, but will they each push for three points or sit back in fear of making a mistake? This is an open game with both sides sharing points. Rather, I think it’s a more practical game.

The French need 3 points, but the Socceroos won’t be able to do so easily. What Australia lacks in star power it makes up for in grit. Kylian Mbappe will be an even bigger focus for Les Bleus’ offense without Karim Benzema.

It’s one of the most open World Cups in recent memory, and as a result many are picking Argentina as favorites to win despite Lionel Messi’s advanced age. After finally winning the national trophy at the Copa America, Messi covets the legendary status given to Diego Maradona as world champion. He is one of Saudi Arabia’s weakest teams. I expect Argentina to win easily.

Tunisia are one of the solid defending teams but struggle to score goals. Denmark is one of those sleazy teams that don’t boast top-level talent, but he’s very experienced in all the top leagues in the world, from top to bottom. Tunisia will make Denmark work for it, but they should get the job done.

Poland 2, Mexico 1

Mexico are still solid, but not as strong as the teams we’ve seen in the past. They have struggled to qualify and don’t have as many goalscorers as they have seen in the past. Poland, on the other hand, has just such a player in striker Robert Lewandowski. He’s lethal, has good form, and can win this game all by himself. He has run the show in Serie A with undefeated leaders Napoli, where he has scored 6 goals and he has 6 assists.

The only hurdle that can trip France to try again is France. There was usually a subtle anxiety about players complaining about things in the media. The most talented player in the world. The Australians are game, tough and resilient but lack talent. It looked like they were going to hold on to this close game, but if France scored in the first half to force Australia to open, they would run wild. .
