David Letterman made a rare stand-up comedy appearance at the Fonda Theater on Friday, May 6th as part of the Netflix Is AJoke Festival.
Letterman hosted and invited some of his favorite new stand-up comedies. Rosebud Baker, Phil One, Sam Morrill — Play before sitting with them for a one-on-one interview.
In a statement to the audience, Letterman talked about what happened at the Hollywood Bowl earlier this week. At that time, the armed perpetrator jumped on stage before being arrested by police during the Dave Chappelle set.

“Oh yeah, what a hell …” Letterman shouted in a mock panic before telling the crowd, “I’m sorry, I thought I saw a man coming here.”
After looking inside the crowd, he confirmed, “Is it just a waiter?”
“I’m sorry, a little worrisome, do you know what I mean?” He added.
“Let’s just straighten one … In honor of the people coming here tonight, when the show is over, I’ll be in the lobby. And if anyone wants to beat me, come out by God. Please! ”Letterman equipped.
