Strong winds expected in Toronto on Wednesday, says Environment Canada – Toronto
Environment Canada has issued a special weather statement for Toronto, saying strong winds are expected in the city on Wednesday.
Officials said “due to a strong cold front”, westerly winds of 70-80 km/h are expected on Wednesday afternoon and will continue into Wednesday evening.
“The strongest winds are expected near the eastern shores of the Great Lakes, where gusts of up to 90km/h can occur,” the statement read.
Environment Canada said winds were expected to ease from west to east on Wednesday night.
Officials warned that strong winds could throw loose objects and break tree branches.
“Isolated utility outages may occur,” said Environment Canada.
