FuelPositive Announces New Agricultural Greenhouse Gas Reduction Advisor and On-Farm Nitrate Emissions Reduction Research Project, The Canadian Business Journal

TORONTO, November 17, 2022 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — FuelPositive Corporation (TSX.V: NHHH) (OTCQB: NHHHF) (“FuelPositive” or “Company”) today appointed a new agricultural advisor, Dr. Mario Tenuta, as Agriculture Greenhouse Gas Mitigation Advisor to share news about a new collaborative research project aimed at reducing nitrous oxide. announced that it will (N2O) Emissions associated with the use of all nitrogen fertilizers, whether organic or synthetic. The project, which is being implemented at Tracy and Curtis Hebert’s farm near Sparring, Manitoba, Canada, began in the last week of October 2022. FuelPositive’s on-site, containerized green ammonia (NH3) We will set up a production system. On November 12, 2022, Dr. Tenuta, Mr. and Mrs. Hieberts, and staff agronomist Mathieu Proulx met with FuelPositive to visit the cold, snowy site.

Dr. Mario Tenuta is Senior Industrial Research Chair for 4R Nutrient Management and Professor of Applied Soil Ecology at the University of Manitoba. The 4Rs consist of right fertilizer, right amount, right time and right place. The 4R Industrial Research Chair Program is conducting research on his 4R nitrogen management practices on the Canadian prairies to identify solutions to achieve N reductions.2O emissions, and improved soil health and crop productivity. The program is a joint project of the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC), the Western Grain Research Foundation (WGRF) and Fertilizer Canada.

“We are committed to doing everything we can to reduce greenhouse gas emissions associated with agriculture. Our patent-pending technology replaces previously conventional gray ammonia production. That’s a big step forward, but we’re also determined to minimize the nitrous oxide emissions associated with all nitrogen fertilizers. Luna Clifford, Director of Strategic Partnerships and Alliances at FuelPositive, said: “We proposed to implement the project at the Hieberts farm near the University of Manitoba. Mario and the Heiberts family could not be more aligned with us when it comes to our shared desire to combat climate change while maximizing soil health and crop yields.”

“We have the opportunity to partner with FuelPositive and Hiebert Farms in their mission to improve many important agricultural nitrogen emission reduction methods by researching, developing and promoting responsible and thoughtful agricultural practices. We thank the Hieberts and their agronomist, Mathieu Proulx, for generously donating a quarter plot of their land for this important study. It aims to show how much control farmers can have with the right skills and tools to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, improve fertilizer use and optimize yields. Achieving zero emissions requires forward-thinking, along with the right precision applied and best-practice technologies, which together can make a real difference in making agricultural production more sustainable. You can,” said Mario Tenuta.

“We are delighted to welcome Mario and his team to our farm and provide the land, equipment and personnel to conduct this forward-looking research.3 We are engaged in on-farm nitrification inhibitor research and look forward to participating in research projects and benefiting from their findings throughout 2023 and into the future. This is a great opportunity to help the environment while potentially reducing costs and optimizing yields,” added Mathieu Proulx, staff agronomist at the Hiebert farm.

“It was a pleasure to visit the research project site even though it was already snowing. I was able to build

“As a company committed to a more sustainable food industry, one of our main goals is to help farmers significantly reduce their greenhouse gas emissions using an onsite containerized green ammonia production system. Mario’s close and practical relationships with farmers provide us with valuable assets that help us gain insight and access. His expertise helps farmers go green by helping them optimize their use of green ammonia while mitigating their environmental impact.”

80% of the ammonia produced in the world today is used as a nitrogen fertilizer. Global shortages of ammonia and fertilizers threaten global food security. FuelPositive’s onsite containerized Green-his ammonia production system allows farmers to produce their own ammonia on their farms and use it there.

About the project
The goal of this research project is to use 4R best practices used in combination with nitrification inhibitors to help farmers reduce their nitrate emissions by well over 30%, making them more suitable for their crop needs. It is to show that the fertilizer rate can be achieved. Same or better yield.

Treatment was anhydrous ammonia at a slightly lower percentage than currently recommended (85% of recommended) with or without nitrification inhibitors (also called stabilizers).Dr. Tenuta’s team found the inclusion of nitrification inhibitors that significantly reduce nitrogen2O emissions from soils treated with urea and nitrogen solution fertilizers have not examined anhydrous ammonia. This project will test whether reducing nitrogen loss to the environment means that farmers can adjust the ratio of anhydrous ammonia to reduce emissions. Dr. Tenuta’s team monitors and measures nitrogen-related emissions (N2O and ammonia) throughout this fall and next year.

This project is FuelPositive’s first on-site emission reduction research project at the Hiebert farm.

cost offset subsidy
Over the next four years, Manitoba farmers can apply for cost offset grants from the Manitoba Watershed Association or the Canola Council of Canada to cover some of the costs associated with the use of inhibitors.

About FuelPositive
FuelPositive is a commercially viable and sustainable ‘cradle-to-cradle’ clean technology solution that includes an on-site containerized green ammonia (NH3) production system that eliminates carbon emissions from green ammonia production. is a Canadian technology company committed to providing By focusing on clean, sustainable and economically advantageous/feasible technologies, we aim to change the course of climate change through practical solutions that can be implemented in the short term.

The FuelPositive onsite containerized green ammonia production system provides pure anhydrous ammonia for multiple applications including agricultural fertilizer, grain drying and fuel for internal combustion engines, a viable alternative to fuel cells, and grid storage solutions. is designed to produce Green ammonia is also considered a key enabler of the hydrogen economy.

The FuelPositive system is designed to produce green ammonia on-site as needed. This eliminates the wildly fluctuating supply chain, providing energy and supply security to the end user while reducing carbon emissions from the production process. Our first customers are farmers. The farmer uses his 80% of the conventional ammonia currently produced as fertilizer.

We will begin accepting pre-sale inquiries in August 2022. For pre-sales details, please visit https://fuelpositive.com/pre-sales/.
