How Do I Stay Motivated For My Fitness Routine

Many individuals start fitness regimens but abandon them when they get tired, do not love it, or the results are not visible.

Motivation is like a muscle. You can use it or lose it. The more you use it, the stronger and more durable it becomes. And the same goes for your motivation to stay fit!

It doesn’t matter what kind of fitness routine you choose; if you want to succeed, then focus on building up your motivation to stick with that routine.

This blog post will discuss a couple of tips to stay motivated for your fitness routine!

1) Find out what motivates YOU

Knowing what motivates you will make it easier to stay energized. If you hate working out in front of others, then find a private space in your home where the only eyes watching you are your own.

It’s also important to have some music that makes you want to move!

2) Make a plan

Knowing what motivates you is just part of the formula for success. You need a real plan so you can put motivation into action!

Make an exercise schedule with realistic goals and time frames.

For example, if your goal is to run 5 miles every week, then try setting up an exercise plan where you will run one mile on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, and then run two miles on Saturday or Sunday.

This way of exercising will help keep you motivated because you know that during weekends, you will be getting more spare time than on weekdays, which is something to look forward to.

3) Make it a Habit

Once you start doing your fitness routine every day, it becomes part of your life and choosing to workout won’t feel like an agonizing decision anymore.

You need at least 30 days of consistent exercise before it starts feeling natural. So if you haven’t reached that stage yet, keep pushing yourself until it does happen!

Seeing those reasons will help motivate you when your inner voice is telling you to skip your workout for the day.

5) Try it for one month

Commit yourself to workout for just 30 days. It’s not very long so if you miss a day, don’t worry!

Just keep going until the 30th day without interruption and decide whether or not this kind of fitness routine is right for you by then.

If after that time, you still think that exercise or fitness is not for you, then it wasn’t meant to be; but if you want to continue, try it for another 30 days.

6) Invest in workout clothes that make you feel Good

If your workout clothes don’t motivate you to go for at least a short time every day, then they’re definitely not the right ones for you.

Don’t spend too much money on them at first because it’s better to buy a dozen of wholesale athletic apparel that really fit you well so you can work out in comfort.

Once you have the essential pieces of clothing, invest in other outfits which are more expensive but pull together outfits for both style and function so they’ll look good whether you’re working out or just running errands!

7) Get help from friends and family when needed

If you have a friend or family member who encourages you to work out, then don’t be afraid to ask for help when needed.

They’ll be happy to share their tips and exercise routines with you if they want to see you continue losing weight or toning your muscles.

It’s also a good idea to set up a meeting with them every day at the gym because it will help keep you focused on what exercise move comes next in your routine because having others around means more accountability.


Everyone’s motivation levels vary; even workout enthusiasts struggle to stay motivated at times.

Accept that there will be temporary setbacks or moments when you do not feel like exercising before you begin.

Making any behavioral change, such as starting a physical exercise program, is substantial and may be difficult.
