HOCKEY ROUNDUP: Listowel Cyclones stop Redhawks’ streak

Listowel ended Cambridge’s 12-game point streak with a 4-3 win over the Redhawks Friday night at the Steve Kerr Memorial Complex.

Patrick Brown, Tanner Dietz and Tate Vader scored in the second period as the Cyclones (12-8-1) erased a 3-1 first-period deficit. Teegan Middleton scored for Listowel to open the scoring and added an assist. Cory Jewitt and Cam McNevan each added a pair of helpers.

Riley Arts made 40 saves.

Ty Anselmini scored twice for the Redhawks, who entered the game on a 12-0-2 run. Henry Turner had the other goal.

Christian Linton and Ben Edwards combined to make 25 saves.

Cambridge was 2-for-6 on the power play, and Listowel went 1-for-4.

Gagnier scores twice in Hawks’ win

Nolan Gagnier scored twice to lead the Mitchell Hawks to a 4-2 home win over Walkerton Friday night. Andrew Gysbers and Talbot Geiger had the other goals. Jonathan Tenhag added two assists. Bradley Boville made 26 saves.

Tyler Ewald and Eliott McCarey scored for the Capitals. Logan Bromley made 30 stops.

Mitchell (11-3-2-1) was 2-for-5 on the power play, and Walkerton went 1-for-5.

Braves fall to Woodstock

Woodstock scored twice in the third period to break a 2-2 tie and hand the Tavistock Braves a 4-2 defeat Friday night at Southwood Arena.

Ethan Szabo scored twice for the Navy Vets. Jacob McMullen and Eric Tuori added single markers.

Kaden Brame and Jayden Seguin scored for the Braves (12-6-2-0).

Tyler Bouck made 30 saves for Woodstock, and Tavistock counterpart James Hopper turned aside 28 shots.

Woodstock scored once on the power play, while the Braves were 0-for-4 with the man advantage.
