Hockey Canada Board Chairman Michael Brindamore Resigns

The Chairman of the Calgary-Hockey Canada Board of Directors is resigning from his position with immediate effect.
Hockey Canada says Michael Brindamore notified its board of directors of his decision on Friday night as the organization deals with intense scrutiny over its handling of sexual assault allegations and its culture of silence.
In a statement, Brind’Amour said it “has listened carefully to Canadians’ comments” and added that “immediate action is needed to address the significant challenges facing (hockey) organizations and ()sports.” I believe it is essential to bring about
Brind’Amour was first elected as Chair in 2018 and his final term is due to end in November this year.
Hockey Canada said its board of directors will meet soon to determine next steps and appoint an interim chairman.
The next Board election will be held at the November 2022 Annual General Meeting.
