Puma Exploration will begin extended metallurgical research after recovering 99.7% gold from preliminary trials.Canadian Business Journal

RIMOUSKI, Quebec, November 15, 2022 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Puma Exploration Inc. (TSXV: PUMA, OTCQB: PUMXF) (“Company” or “Puma”) is delighted to begin significant metallurgical research will be announced at The Williams Brook Gold project follows exceptional results from preliminary metallurgical tests conducted last summer.Mineral processing restored to 99.7% gold From samples drilled in 2021 in the Lynx Gold Zone (“LGZ”).

The large-scale test is designed to increase the representativeness of initial results and increase the recovery of gold in the Lynx Gold Zone. The expanded testing will help optimize Puma’s ongoing development at LGZ and will provide valuable data as the company prepares large volumes of samples.

Preliminary research highlights:

  • Gold recovery range 98.7% to 99.7%;
  • simple gravity, Recovered using bench-scale Nelson concentrators only 92% gold;
  • The head grade for the low-grade material was calculated to be 0.46 g/t Au (measured) versus 1.49 g/t Au, indicating a ‘nugget effect’ at work.
  • need recovery small amount of cyanide – Only 0.19 kg/t to 1.98 kg/t for optimum recovery.
  • LGZ samples include negligible arsenic and sulfur.

Puma has contracted with the Research & Productivity Council (“RPC”), an accredited laboratory in Fredericton, New Brunswick, to extract samples from selected high-grade and low-grade drill core samples collected during the 2021 drilling campaign. A pre-collection program for pulp and rejects was implemented. Lynx Gold Zone. Approximately 3,000 samples were processed, including 11 kg high-grade quartz rhyolite pulp samples, 9.5 kg and 6.5 kg low-grade quartz rhyolite pulp samples, and low-grade quartz rhyolite reject samples. rice field.

Centrifugal gravity concentration tests were performed on homogenized low-grade reject samples. At 100% grind size passing through 1.0 mm, Concentrate sorting 35.0 g/t Au was produced at 3.9% of the mass to obtain 92% Au recoveryAlso, the test head grade was calculated to be 1.49 g/t Au, whereas the measured value for the material was 0.46 g/t Au, indicating that the material is susceptible to the nugget effect.

A standard cyanide extraction was also completed to maximize gold recovery. High-grade rejects, low-grade pulp, and low-grade rejects were subjected to bottle roll cyanization.collection of gold 99.7%, 98.7%, 99.2%, Respectively. The full report is available on PUMA’s website.

Currently expanding metallurgical program

Drilling confirmed that the Lynx Gold Zone hosts a critical gold system. PUMA’s expanded metallurgical program is designed to better define the quality of gold mineralization in the Lynx Gold Zone, identify opportunities and potential challenges, and further optimize recovery. The study also provides Puma with a flowsheet (recipe) for processing future bulk samples.

This advanced study will process the following materials from the Links Gold Zone:

  • Samples from eight new HQ holes drilled this fall.
  • Grab, chip, and channel samples collected from 12 significant gold-bearing quartz veins discovered during stripping operations this fall.

HQ drill hole
Eight HQ holes totaling 102 m were drilled in the three main quartz veins (Fig. 1). Half of the core was sent to RPC for recovery testing, the other half was split and he was sent to the ALS Chemex lab for gold analysis. The cores submitted to RPC are blended to create one representative sample of each hole. Hole lengths vary from 6 to 18 meters (see Table 1).

Quartz vein surface sampling

To better represent the mineralization of the Lynx Gold Zone for advanced recovery testing, Puma also sampled material from quartz veins discovered at the surface by stripping operations this summer. At the Lynx Gold Zone he collected grab, tip and channel samples from 12 large quartz veins (see Photo 1 and Fig. 2) representing a strike length of over 600 meters. Samples from each vein were blended to represent that vein and sent to RPC. A total of twelve 45-gallon drums (one per vein) totaling approximately 300 kg (600 lbs) each were sent for testing.

Assay results are available in 45-60 days and advanced metallurgical testing is completed in 90-120 days. Results will be announced as soon as they are received.

About the Williams Brooke Gold Project and Links Gold Zone

of Williams Brooke Gold Project It consists of six claim blocks covering more than 46,000 hectares within an established mining-friendly jurisdiction close to paved roads and with excellent infrastructure (Figure 3).

of Links Gold Zone It is interpreted to be a mineralized felsic dome within the large exohydrothermal/orogenic belt system portion of the Appalachian orogeny. High-grade gold mineralization is characterized by finely dispersed gold in quartz (veins, veinlets, stockwork, breccias) that have been affected by extensive hypergenetic alteration. The stratigraphy of the dome is well defined and typical: finely-stacked turbidite-type sedimentary units, rhyolite breccias with sedimentary fragments, giant rhyolite units, and sedimentary and pyroclastic units. Contact between sediment and rhyolite allows the movement of gold-bearing fluids and is characterized by highly silicified iron oxide carbonates and severe sericite alteration. The lynx gold zone was discovered in 2020 by a high-grade surface sample and subsequently recognized by a pit at depth in 2021. WB21-02 It intersects 5.55 g/t Au at 50.15 m from the surface and contains two high grade gold veins of 9.88 g/t Au at 8.60 m and 46.94 g/t Au at 3.85 m.
