MONTREAL, Nov. 17, 2022 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — The demands on healthcare professionals have never been higher. After more than two years of dealing with the pandemic, healthcare workers are burnt out. Combined with the retirement of baby boomers, hospitals across the country are having difficulty recruiting and retaining staff. As a result, new doctors, nurses, physical therapists, etc. are often hired into highly specialized jobs right out of college and do not get the support they need to succeed.

  • Training and resources for stress management Build a more human and employee-centered work environment.

In addition to training over 5,000 new medical professionals each year, MUHC recruits 2,000 new employees each year. Almost 75% are recent graduates and more than 65% he is under 30 years old. Simulations provide an opportunity for young professionals to familiarize themselves with the work environment, rehearse stressful scenarios and, most importantly, learn to work as a team. The MUHC Simulation Center (MUHC-i-SIM) allows teams of doctors, nurses, respiratory therapists, and other medical professionals to practice together and prepare for real-life emergencies. A post-simulation debriefing provides an opportunity to discuss the pressures and stresses of working in a safe environment.
