Matthews ponders what it was like to look double

Imagine if Orston Matthews had twin brothers: one played hockey, was a Maple Leafs superstar, and was a Toronto teammate.

With twins Daniel and Henrik Sedin inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame on Monday, can Matthews, who has two sisters, imagine having a twin brother by his side?

“I don’t know,” Matthews said with a grin. “It’s creepy with a mustache too. I’ve always wanted a brother, but I couldn’t.”

Matthews watched from afar Sedins, a star of the Vancouver Canucks who had a stellar career in the National Hockey League before retiring after the 2017-18 season.

“The connection when you get twin brothers who play with each other and have that feeling is one of a kind,” Matthews said. “You don’t find that very often.” It’s been a lot of fun watching them do their thing over the years.”
