One neighbor, Shannon Hebert, who lives two doors down from a house fire, said she saw smoke in her backyard and ran outside with her daughter.

“We just saw that the left side of the house was almost entirely engulfed in flames,” says Hebert.

Hebert said the flames were as high as the house.

“It was really scary.

It smelled of natural gas, and some residents were told not to use incendiary devices such as lighters or lit cigarettes in case the wind changed.

The crew continued to fight the fire late into the night while fire hoses lined the closed cul-de-sac.

Around 8:30 pm, a large excavator was brought in to demolish the house. Firefighters continued to extinguish the burning hotspot.

By Saturday morning, the area was fenced off and security officers were dispatched to the scene.
